About Colin

Colin Crichton joined the IPOZ System’s team in 2019 as Managing Director. Colin, an industry renowned technology veteran, brings with him an extensive list of achievements and wide range of experience in designing and developing innovative solutions for the offshore industry market.

As founder and CEO of Crichton Design Ltd (CDL), a leading supplier of subsea inertial navigation systems and motion sensors, Colin is rich with experience from building his own company and bringing industry changing equipment to market that is still in use today. His experience has created an image that is recognized by international players as a subject matter expert in the field of subsea inertial navigation and controls systems. At IPOZ, Colin serves as Managing Director and Lead Product Development Engineer, with a particular focus on empowering disruptive industry change through purpose built cost-effective equipment design.

Colin has received several awards and served as a member of the Executive Engineering Advisory Board, at the Aberdeen University.  Colin holds a degree in Electronics and Electrical Engineering, from Robert Gordon University (RGU), Aberdeen with a specialization in control systems.
