About Ziwen

Ziwen Liu is one of the pioneering members of the IPOZ group. He joined the team in 2012 and has since led and supervised the development of highly sophisticated subsea metrology, and land survey systems expanding the scope on the survey and pipeline mapping industry. Currently he acts as Chief Technology Officer.

Born in China, Ziwen earned a Bachelor and Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the Harbin Engineering University in 1982 and 1985. Upon graduating, he advanced through engineering by joining the University of Calgary for Geomatics Engineering Masters program. Since Ziwen’s early days he has experienced a long journey of significant work and accomplishments including two patents of precision position AG and AGM, both awarded in 2004.

Prior to IPOZ Ziwen worked at Calgary and Harbin University as an Assistant Professor, visiting scholar, research assistant and research associate. In 1994 he joined the industry as a System Engineer and latter as a Geodesist of survey and pipeline technology companies in Calgary and Houston, Texas.
